A rather austere piece that is all heavy oak from top to toe, built on the base of an old clock.
Finarfin was the youngest child and son of Finwë and Indis and the third King of the Noldor in Valinor. He was Galadriel's father. He was of his mother’s kind in mind and body, having the golden hair of the Vanyar, their noble and gentle temper, and their love of the Valar.
I always felt that his golden device reflects both his appearance and his gentle, wise nature.
I wanted to preserve the distinctive grain of the wood under the primer, so I chose a slightly more "impressionist" style for the paint to match the more rugged surface. And I added some subtle blue touches to the sunny colour scheme to accommodate the bluish tone of the opalite.
