Has Fauno gone cuckoo? Surely these are not made of wood?
No, this new page in Fauno's site (Fauno Faery Plastic-craft?) is indeed a little outside our usual scope, and a bit of a change of mood, although it certainly qualifies as upcyling!
A childhood favourite of ours, the first generation of My Little Ponies were first created by Hasbro 40 years ago, and are now a coveted collectible toy.
However, many well-loved, decades-old ponies have seen too much rough play and careless storage to be considered as collectable items anymore, and these ponies (usually discoloured, scuffed and scraped, more or less damaged and hairless) are the ponies that Fauno looks for and turns into art.
Cleaned, repaired when needed, primed and completely repainted, with new hair and accessories (upcycled leather, ribbons, etc), the Fauno ponies draw inspiration from all our favourite fantasy stories, and much more. It is always a delight to bring a dilapidated 40 years old toy back to the light as a work of art.
We especially enjoy giving these plastic items a more organic, hand-crafted feel!
Since these ponies are all decades old there may be small issues with them that we are not able to correct. When this is the case it will be mentioned in the description!
Fauno is open to custom ponies commissions.
Price and delivery times depend primarily on the availability of a suitable pony to work upon. Common poses like collector pose, shy pose and Posey pose will be easily sourced, but others might require a bit of shopping around.
