About Fauno

Fauno is a small independent business based in the Dordogne, a fairytale region of forests, rivers, and castles in SW France. If there is a place where you can start believing in magic, this is it!

We began selling our wooden handmade jewellery and home decor during the pandemic, but the skills and intentions that made it possible, had been growing organically long before. 

We have been doing woodwork of one kind or another for almost thirty years.

As we built our off grid cob home and homestead surrounded by old woodland in all directions, we formed this nurturing and grounding relationship with the nature around us. The earth under our feet gave us food, building materials, shade, firewood, and even more, it never stops giving us wonder, health and inspiration every day. 

We wanted to create art in the same way we created our home: with the beautiful materials that our woods and homestead offer to us, with old wood and pre-loved objects we find wandering this beautiful region, and entirely by hand.

We are constantly inspired by the natural world and by the stories we love, books, faity tales myths, favourite fantasy universes. Organic shapes, and light, and colors, animals and insects, and the life of old, old trees, and everything is woven through each piece that we make.

We wanted to make things that contain a spark of all this. We want you to share the magic of this earth with us and have its beauty in your home.
