Hammered Dulcimer Tympanon Album Download or CD

If you are ever in Brittany or the Dordogne you may have the joy of listening to Eric playing live among fairytale medieval buildings, fairs and Celtic festivals.  Until then, you can enjoy 60 minutes of Hammered Dulcimer music in Eric's CD, copied by solar powered and lovingly hand-packaged in our off grid cottage. 

The tympanon is a stringed instrument played with small wooden hammers. The sound is evocative of the celtic harp. The wooden hammers allow to accentuate melodies in a percussive way. The origin of the instrument is probably persian (the Iranian santur). There are many different versions of the instruments around the world, often adapted to the regional music. Eric's is a hammered dulcimer, mostly used in the anglosphere.

Most titles on this CD are Eric's own creations, inspired by traditional dances and music from France, Scandinavia, celtic regions, India and Persia.
