Painted Slate - Flamboyant 2

Slate tiles are one of the traditional roofing materials in this region. These shattered tiles come from an old roof being renovated and are genuine antiques! It was too painful to watch them go to the tip so we decided to turn them into art!

Lightly carved and painted this gothic window motif in flame colors brings movement into the cold stone, while the glass cabochons add a spark of glamour and light.

The last touch is a tail of ethically collected feathers and rock crystal beads. Vegan friendly cords, acrylic paint and watercolor. 

Do not wash these tiles, only dust them with a dry brush or cloth to preserve the contrast between the dark surface and the carved details.
